Your new company: We are looking for support workers with the right values and attitudes to join a large provider of care in South Wales. They provide support to adults with learning or physical disabilities across Swansea and Neath Port Talbot.
Your new role: The role of support worker involves supporting the delivery of care to adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and additional health needs. Responsibilities include providing personal and physical care according to each individual’s care plan, administering medication, liaising with external professionals, and facilitating access to community activities. You will also support in maintaining and enhancing individuals' wellbeing through participation in arts and crafts, sports, shopping trips, holidays, and other activities. The organization operates on a flexible rota, requiring availability for short and long shifts, including days, nights, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins.
What you will need to succeed: No prior experience is required; however, a committed and motivated attitude towards personal and professional development is essential. Willingness to undertake training to improve your care standards is expected. Basic domestic skills such as cooking and cleaning are necessary, along with the ability to create a safe and comfortable environment. You should demonstrate a calm, non-judgmental manner and be capable of handling stressful situations. A full UK driving licence and flexibility to work various shifts are required.
