We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join out client in South Ayrshire, who are a leader in there industry. Your role will be to maintain and repair industrial machinery in a fast‑paced production environment. You'll work on a wide range of equipment, carrying out planned maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns and ensuring safe, reliable plant performance. What you'll be doing: Mechanical maintenance on mills, presses, dryers, conveyors and material‑handling equipment Fault finding and carrying out safe, effective repairs Working with hydraulics & pneumatics - cylinders, valves, pumps, actuators Maintaining rotating equipment - gearboxes, bearings, couplings, fans Supporting process equipment including boilers, pumps and thermal systems Using CMMS to manage and record maintenance tasks Working safely under PTW, LOTO and site safety proceduresWhat we're looking for: Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering apprenticeship Experience in manufacturing or heavy industry Strong mechanical fault‑finding skills Experience with hydraulics & pneumatics Ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs Proactive, safety‑focused mindsetDesirable: Experience in biomass, wood processing, pellet plants or other industrial environments.
