Senior Finance Systems Product Manager
The Finance Systems & Transactions team sits within our Finance Directorate and operates as two sub teams, supporting transactional processes such as AP & AR, reporting and analysis, and smooth operation of integrated systems, resolving system issues in a timely manner. This is a key role which involves day to day activities and leadership of the Transactions team, agile support for the Systems team and project work. IPO currently have two important concurrent projects that require Finance Systems support and you will need to prioritise your work accordingly. Our main finance system, e5, is a key integration point and knowledge in this area would be an advantage, although a systems and problem-solving mindset is key for this role.

Working Style
This role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where staff are currently expected to spend at least 20% of their time working onsite from one of our offices. This role is based in our Newport Office.
The requirement for attendance at an office location can vary by role so we would encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the recruiting manager to agree a reasonable balance between working from home and the office.
Job description
Main duties consist of but are not limited to:
* Being an effective and engaged member of the Finance Systems and Transactions management team, supporting the Head of Finance Systems and Transactions,
* Performing a lead role in continuous improvement initiatives and Finance systems and process related projects, including definition of scope and requirements; identification of change impacts on systems, processes and stakeholders; supporting the articulation of benefits and efficiencies.
* Managing existing finance systems and interfaces, ensuring they are maintained and operate effectively, providing expert support and advice to our users,
* Providing an intelligent customer function, identifying risks, issues and continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting their prioritisation through evidenced based reasoning,
* Leading on knowledge capture and information sharing to develop shared understanding of processes and aid problem resolution,
* Leading, motivating and supporting the multidisciplinary team through both line and matrix management arrangements,
* Managing the finance transactional services including Purchase to Pay (P2P), Order to cash (O2C), Expenses and Cash Management,
* Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external suppliers, customers and stakeholders.
* Leading financial systems and process user support, including developing and designing systems and process training materials and initiatives to upskill users,
* Supporting the development of financial data and system reporting capability to improve the services we provide to our stakeholders and monitor performance.

Essential criteria
* Experience of working with Finance systems and processes in a large organisation.
* Problem solving ability, working with others to collaboratively identify problems, provide solutions and implement them.
* Time management and prioritisation skills to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities whilst adhering to strict deadlines.
* Ability to effectively work as part of a team and to take responsibility for own area of work.
* Excellent people management skills with previous direct line management experience.
* Effective stakeholder management skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills with a strong focus on customer service.
* Motivated to improve processes and services.

Qualifications
To be eligible to apply, candidates must have extensive financial systems experience and have a minimum of AAT Level 4 or be part qualified and studying for one of the professional bodies below:
• The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW)
• The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS)
• Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI)
• The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
• The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)
