Role Overview:
We are seeking a capable and experienced Legal Assistant to support the Real Estate Director in managing a diverse caseload of commercial and residential property transactions, as well as real estate-related disputes. This key support role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to operate efficiently in a busy legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to the Real Estate Director.
2. Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, leases, and contracts.
3. Handle file opening and closing procedures, compliance checks, and client onboarding.
4. Manage diaries, schedule meetings, and coordinate transaction timelines.
5. Assist with due diligence, searches, Land Registry applications, and post-completion tasks.
6. Draft standard legal documents and letters under supervision.
7. Liaise with clients, third parties, and internal stakeholders professionally and promptly.
8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records using the firm’s case management system.
9. Monitor key deadlines and assist in progressing transactions efficiently.
10. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and firm procedures.
11. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a legal assistant or paralegal role within real estate or property law.
12. Strong knowledge of commercial and/or residential property processes.
13. Familiarity with Land Registry applications, SDLT returns, and post-completion tasks.
14. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
15. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple matters.
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems.
17. Self-motivated and confident working independently, especially remotely.
18. Previous experience supporting senior solicitors or partners in a real estate team.
19. Exposure to property litigation matters.
20. Knowledge of compliance and anti-money laundering procedures.
21. Experience with remote working tools and digital platforms.
