We are excited to announce that we are building upon the commercial success achieved to date, and have an opportunity to join our rapidly expanding team as a Supply Chain Manager.
This is strategic role of key importance to the business. Business growth is strong and development of a strategically enabled Supply Chain will ensure we can support the desired growth within unnecessary risk. This role will have ownership and accountability of the Procurement, Stores / Logistics and Planning department including Shipping, Sub-con control and Export / Import compliance. It should be noted that at present the business planning function is shared between two department and it will be the SCM's responsibility to create a dedicated planning department.
Responsibilities & Tasks
Develop and implement safety guidelines in all aspects of the supply chain, ensuring the safety of your team. Support the site leadership with the implementation and ongoing management of all HSE initiatives
Ensure supply chain processes meet legal requirements and standards and records
Create the company's short, medium- and long-term Supply Chain strategy including de-risking of external supply chain, capital investment, team engagement and development
Management of Stores and logistics department
Management of Procurement department
Management of Planning department
ERP Supply Chain Health
Escalation point for all SC issues that come up (e.g. delays in delivery, accidents, supplier issues)
Create (in collaboration with COO), evaluate and report on KPIs, including trend analysis and improvements for all red metrics (as a minimum) to ensure the continued development of the supply chain function. This role will own site OTD
Create and use leading metrics (aligned to KPIs) to manage the day to day functions of the business ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and site targets are met.
Mentor, train and guide your team and support employees from all areas of the business as required
Find cost-effective solutions for supply chain processes and deliver year on year cost out
Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth
Creation and management of a site SIOP process
Be a member of Ops leadership team and support piers and other leaders within the business as required
Any other reasonable responsibility or duty suited to the individual capabilities
Skills & Experience
At least 5 years' experience as a supply chain manager within a rapidly growing electro-mechanical business.
Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
Working experience of MRP software essential, SAP preferred
Strong communication skills at all levels of the business
Excellent organizational and project management skills
Knowledge of import/export controls within a defence environment (preferred)
Creative problem-solving
Strong analytical skills
The ability to think strategically
Qualifications
Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or similar field – CIPS, CPD or relevant experience
