DSL Group (Nottingham) Limited are looking for a commercially driven Buyer to join our team. This role will play a key part in shaping our product ranges, driving category performance, and building strong supplier relationships. You will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and developing products that enhance our offering and deliver strong commercial returns.
Key Responsibilities
* Category Management: Manage and grow a diverse product portfolio, ensuring strong performance across both Own Brand and external supplier ranges.
* New Product Development (NPD): Identify and develop new opportunities for Own Brand expansion, increasing category margins and sales performance.
* Supplier Management: Source, negotiate, and onboard new suppliers and brands from the UK and Europe, maintaining strong relationships to improve product quality, service levels, and profitability.
* Promotional Planning: Work with suppliers to design and implement promotional plans aligned with company targets.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Operations teams to maximise category growth and ensure successful product launches.
* Seasonal & Project Management: Oversee seasonal campaigns, brochures, and catalogues to deliver significant turnover growth.
* Market & Competitor Analysis: Research market trends, attend trade shows, and monitor competitor activity to identify new opportunities and gaps in our range.
* Commercial Analysis: Conduct detailed margin and performance analysis at product, brand, and category level to drive profitable decision-making.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Present category updates and plans to Sales Teams, Senior Leadership, and external supplier partners.
About You

* Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
* Excellent analytical ability and confidence with margin and sales performance data.
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable working cross-functionally and externally.
