Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant – NP11
Team Educate are recruiting for passionate teaching assistants who specialise in working with children with special educational needs. A primary school in the NP11 area are looking for teaching assistants to support their special needs resource base classroom on a temporary basis, with the opportunity of extending to permanent for the right candidate.
The role involves working with pupils on a 1 to 1 basis or a small group supporting their learning, encouraging confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
A desirable special educational needs teaching assistant must have:
* Experience working in a SEN environment.
* Excellent communication skills
* Empathetic and nurturing characteristics
* High expectations of the children in their care
The special educational needs teaching assistant role includes:
* Providing 1:1 support
* Delivering group activities from the teachers planning
* Preparing and setting up resources
* Using your own initiative
* Developing literacy, numeracy and communication skills in children
As a special educational teaching assistant, you require:
* An enhanced Child Workforce DBS – we can process one for you ready for September.
* Registered with the EWC – we can help with your registration.
* 2 years of professional references
