About the role

We are looking for 1x Mechanical Technician and 1x Electrical Technician to join
our Cruachan Power Station Team on a Fixed Term Contract up until 31 December
2025.

As a Technician, you’ll be
responsible for Operations, Maintenance and Testing of all Hydro Plant and
Apparatus. You’ll support the Team Leader / Production Engineer with routine
plant operations and inspection and maintenance of the sites systems. This is
to ensure that plant meets all statutory and legislative requirements and
remains efficient and reliable to maximise opportunities for commercial
running.

Other duties in this role include:

- Operating the Hydro Generating Plant, including plant start-up and shutdowns, routine plant inspections and general operational tasks
- Providing technical support to the Cruachan 3 and 4 Upgrade Project, including commissioning activity
- Conducting routine and corrective maintenance, fault finding, operations, inspection, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical plant
- Assisting engineering teams in the processes for plant improvement and project delivery process
- Undertaking the role of Competent Person, and Authorised Person under the Safety Rules
- Undertaking and participating in safety, environmental and quality standards inspections and audits

Who we’re looking for

To be successful in this role
you’ll need to be a time served Mechanical or Electrical craftsperson having
followed an approved apprentice training programme. You’ll also have an ONC/
HNC or equivalent in a mechanical or electrical discipline.

You’ll have industrial
experience in plant operations and maintenance within a multi-disciplinary
team. Additionally, you’ll demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the Health,
Safety & Environmental Legislation.
