About the Role

In this role, you will lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for a range of enabling functions. You will play a central role in driving digital transformation and continuous improvement across the service, ensuring that innovation, efficiency, and high performance are embedded in our ways of working. You will provide strategic oversight of performance and resource management, acting as a key facilitator for the Pensions Senior Leadership Team. Surrey County Council is preparing for Local Government Reorganisation, which will implement the Government-led policy of devolution—giving more powers to local areas. Currently, Surrey has a two-tier council system, with 11 district and borough councils and a county council, all responsible for different services. All these councils will be reorganised into a smaller number of new unitary councils, coming into effect in April 2027. At this point, this role will transfer, with all existing terms and conditions, into one of the new unitary councils. Join our dynamic team and shape the future of local government. Make a lasting impact with innovative solutions and improved services for our community. Help us build a brighter future for our residents!

Working closely with the Head of Pensions - Resources and the Pensions Senior Leadership Team, you will play a key role in designing and developing our strategic plan and ensuring its effective and efficient delivery. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality public services.
