…then being a Library and Archive Assistant in Sheffield Libraries might be the perfect choice for you.
You will have strong IT skills and be an excellent communicator. Our busy, fast paced service will see you delivering a wide range of events and activities… singing in Baby RhymeTimes, facilitating reading groups with older children and adults, supporting people to use to our computers and undertaking a wide range of Library administration.
Our roles are based in Clusters and you will work across all Libraries in Sheffield. We have roles available for:
Permanent: 34 hours based in Cluster 1 mainly at Parson Cross Library, as well as supporting Stocksbridge, Chapeltown and Hillsborough.
Temporary to cover maternity leave until 31 March 2025: 28 hours based in Hillsborough, Chapeltown, Stocksbridge and Parson Cross.
Temporary until 31 March 2025: 18.5 hours based in Cluster 2 Ecclesall, Woodseats and Highfield
Temporary for 12 months: 34 hours based in Cluster 2 mainly at Highfield Library, as well as supporting Ecclesall and Woodseats.
Temporary for 12 months: 34 hours based in Cluster 1 mainly at Stocksbridge Library, as well as supporting Hillsborough, Chapeltown and Parson Cross

All roles include working Saturdays on a regular basis. 34-hour roles work every Saturday whilst other part time roles work every other Saturday. Saturday working attracts an enhanced rate of pay. All our Hub Libraries are closed on Thursdays and Sundays.
