Job overview
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our team of Endoscopy Clerical staff in the Princess of Wales Hospital.
The successful candidate will be required to have a good standard of education, be extremely organised, able to use a range of IT systems and able to adapt to competing priorities whilst maintaining a high level of competence.

Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the day to day co-ordination of all Endoscopy appointments and Outpatient Clinics within the Endoscopy Unit working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the right patient attends the right clinic, on the right day at the right time: in addition to have responsibility for the preparation of all case notes adhering to departmental policy and the provision of a high quality reception service for all patients, their families, carers and any other visitors to the department.
To be responsible for the management of the partial booking wizard and to assist and support the Manager and junior staff within the department, also providing cover for reception on a rotational basis.
You may be required to travel between Hospital sites within the Health Board, in a timely manner as directed.

Qualifications
* Minimum of 3 GCSE’s or possess equivalent level of skills and knowledge.
* NVQ II in Business Administration and/or Customer Care or equivalent.
Experience
* Experience of reception duties or similar role.
* Knowledge of patient administrative systems.
* Experience of working within a busy, demanding environment.
* Work using own initiative and as part of a team.
* Experience of working in a similar role within a healthcare or hospital environment.
Aptitude and Abilities Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Standard keyboard skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office packages.
* Understanding of the role of Clerical Officer.
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection.
* Working as part of a busy team.
* Knowledge of CTUHB IT systems.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
