Job Description Healthcare Assistant – Sterile Services Lead Fulwood Hall Hospital Full Time – 37.5 Hours The Role We’re looking for a passionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Theatre team as Sterile Services Lead. Putting patients first, you’ll play a key role in supporting safe, efficient surgical services by ensuring theatres are fully prepared and equipped for each operating list. Our theatres are busy and colleagues will rely on your expertise and organisation. Working closely with scrub practitioners, theatre nurses, ODPs, surgeons and Sterile Services, you’ll help ensure every case runs smoothly, safely and on time. Key responsibilities Manage the Theatre Sterile Stores, ensuring the area is clean, well organised, clearly labelled and safe Prepare instrument sets, specialist equipment and consumables in advance of operating lists Receive, check and process loan equipment in line with sterilisation and infection control procedures Coordinate the lending and tracking of instruments to and from other Trust sites, maintaining accurate records and full traceability Work closely with the wider theatre team to ensure the correct, sterile equipment is available for every case Support efficient theatre flow, patient safety and high standards of infection control at all times What you’ll bring with you NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care Sterile Services experience (Desirable) Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Good written and verbal communication skills Proven customer service skills A highly motivated, proactive approach Enjoys working in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing environment Flexible approach to duties and working hours Why join us?
