Urgent Treatment Centre Out of Hours Driver

Assist the DriverTeam Leader/Lead Driver in executing the efficient and timely transportation ofUrgent Treatment Centre (UTC) services, facilitating the transportation of GPsto deliver patient care. This role supports operational teams throughadministrative functions.


Main duties of the job

-Maintaincomprehensive knowledge of the fleet's vehicles to operate any vehicle asneeded.

-Assist inconducting vehicle checks during shifts to ensure the safety of GPs, oneself,and the public.

-Adhere to thedriver's rota and shift schedules in compliance with working time regulations.

-Ensure the securehandling of drugs and clinical equipment during shift turnover, recording usageappropriately.

-Completetimesheets, vehicle log sheets, and logbooks, reporting any discrepancies tothe Lead Driver.

-Assist inmonitoring daily transport performance, reporting findings to the lead driver.

-Report andaddress any necessary repairs for vehicles and equipment, guaranteeing theirfitness for use.

-Participate inlicense checks, driver assessments, and mandatory driver training.

-Foster positivecommunication among drivers, GPs, UTC colleagues, and external partners.

-Supporting GPswhere needed with Chaperoning

-Supporting GPsif they need any help/support

-Undertake regularstock checks for drugs and any other equipment

-Operating all incar communications and patient management system equipment to support accuraterecord keeping

-Plan the mostefficient routes for and between home visits

Hours ofwork:

0000-0800 - 20 hours per week

The post holder will berequired to provide support to GPs by transporting them to and from patientsfor out of hour care.

Job Summary

Main Duties:

-Provide supportto colleagues to minimize lone working, prioritizing personal and collectivesafety.

-Ensure the securehandling of drugs and clinical equipment during shift turnover, recording usageappropriately.

-Completetimesheets, vehicle log sheets, and logbooks, reporting any discrepancies tothe Lead Driver.

-Assist inmonitoring daily transport performance, reporting findings to the lead driver.

-Maintain thecleanliness, security, and routine maintenance of vehicles and equipment duringshifts.

-Report andaddress any necessary repairs for vehicles and equipment, guaranteeing theirfitness for use.

-Support theinduction and guidance of new employees to familiarize them with businessoperations and the geographical area.

-Participate inlicense checks, driver assessments, and mandatory driver training.

-Foster positivecommunication among drivers, GPs, UTC colleagues, and external partners.

-Engage activelyin team and departmental meetings.

-Supporting GPswhere needed with Chaperoning

-Supporting GPsif they need any help/support

-Undertake regularstock checks for drugs and any other equipment

-Operating all incar communications and patient management system equipment to support accuraterecord keeping

-Plan the mostefficient routes for and between home visits

-To assist withbasic administrative duties and using Microsoft outlook to read/respond toemails

-Directing callsto appropriate extensions, dealing with telephone enquiries and recordingmessages when required

Knowledge,Training and Experience

Must be over 25 years (Under insurancepolicy)

Valid Full UK driving licence with a cleandriving record to provide driving licence on annual basis for a DVLA check

Must be computer literate with a knowledgeof Microsoft Office including including Word, Excel and Outlook

Previous experience of working in a team

Previous experience of fleet maintenance

Postholder will work towards the GP assistant Certification
