An established and fast-growing commercial property consultancy is seeking an Energy Modelling & Sustainability Consultant to join its specialist Building Consultancy team. This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of building performance, decarbonisation and net-zero delivery across a diverse commercial real estate portfolio.
You’ll work alongside surveyors, engineers, architects and sustainability specialists, using advanced modelling techniques to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon and support ESG outcomes.
The role
*
Deliver building energy and HVAC modelling to optimise performance
*
Identify decarbonisation and energy-efficiency opportunities across existing assets
*
Support low-carbon design, retrofit and net-zero carbon strategies
*
Contribute to BREEAM, NABERS, LEED, WELL and Net Zero Carbon certifications
*
Provide technical input to ESG reporting and regulatory compliance
*
Present findings clearly to clients and internal stakeholders
About you
*
Experience in building energy modelling within commercial real estate
*
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)
*
Strong understanding of SAP, SBEM, UK Building Regulations, ASHRAE and CIBSE guidance
*
Proficiency in IES VE, EnergyPlus or DesignBuilder
*
Confident using AutoCAD (Revit and Bluebeam advantageous)
*
Member of CIBSE, IMechE or an equivalent professional body
*
A proactive mindset with a genuine interest in sustainability and innovation
Desirable
*
Parametric or data-driven modelling (Grasshopper, Python, VBA)
*
Low-carbon or energy certifications (CIBSE LCC, BEMP, CEM)
