We are looking for a talented Senior Editor, Research Professional News to join our Publishing team in London
About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments
* University degree and/or master's degree or equivalent
* +7 years of work experience in a similar position
What will you be doing in this role?
* Commission, edit and write compelling, timely and accurate news and analysis on research policy and higher education appropriate to Research Professional News's audience, meeting the demands of a daily news service
* Take responsibility for the delivery of US news on agreed days, and/or any other sections of content as directed by the editor-in-chief / managing editor.
* Cover for other senior members of the editorial team as required.
* Contribute to the broader development of Research Professional News, including through special projects, engagement with prominent research organisations to promote our US news service, events and mentoring of junior staff, as required.
* Maintain the highest standards of journalistic practice and integrity, including through reliably identifying and mitigating libel risk, and act as an ambassador for the publication at internal and external events, including chairing/presenting as required.

Hours of Work
This is a part-time role (70%) on a permanent contract. Hybrid, going to our London central office 2 times per week.
