The rural business sector is intricate and ever-changing, presenting ongoing challenges and opportunities. To navigate this landscape, our client has established a dedicated team specialising in agriculture and landed estates, equipped with extensive knowledge and experience.
Our client is now seeking to recruit a Senior Accounts Manager / Accounts Manager to join their team.
Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility for a diverse rural and agricultural-focused portfolio, delivering comprehensive accounting services and expert advice.
* Support team members, reviewing their work, and actively contribute to accounts preparation, tax advisory services, and business support for a range of entities, including limited companies, partnerships, sole traders, and individuals.
* Oversee the year-end accounts and review resulting income tax or corporation tax returns.
* Exercise control over and review the preparation of VAT returns.
* Manage day-to-day client matters, collaborating with a Partner on general issues and handling specific one-off projects.
* Provide a holistic business advice service through client meetings and the development of business plans.
* Efficiently manage the portfolio to ensure all deadlines are met.
* Qualifications and Requirements:
Qualifications / Experience:
* Practical experience in a professional setting, preferably within a large, national firm or a regional, independent accountancy practice.
* Recent and significant expertise in agricultural sector accounting with a strong working knowledge of associated tax issues.
* ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
