An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The position requires overseeing credit activities such as risk management, developing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.
The successful candidate will:
* Have prior experience in a busy credit control environment,
* Possess strong financial understanding,
* Be capable of problem-solving,
* Be confident in leading a team,
* Be self-motivated and driven,
* Have excellent communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the success of the credit function.
Key responsibilities include:
* Act as the primary contact with Credit Insurers, monitor insured limits, submit claims, and assist in renewal negotiations,
* Organize and lead monthly meetings with senior management,
* Provide management information on bad debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports,
* Manage cash collection for all group companies,
* Ensure departmental systems and protocols are efficient and compliant,
* Oversee and proactively manage the Credit Control team,
* Process credit applications and provide PODs,
* Make major or sensitive credit decisions,
* Control credit limits,
* Handle litigation, insolvency cases, and pursue claims,
* Set and manage credit policies and credit notes,
* Assess risks for existing and new credit applicants,
* Maintain strong relationships across departments and with senior management,
* Review sales Terms and Conditions,
* Visit customers and company sites as needed.
