We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic and inclusive team at our Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Psychology Graduate who is looking to gain hands-on experience in education and child development, particularly those considering a future career in educational or clinical psychology, teaching, or special educational needs (SEN).
Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Psychology Graduate)
Location: Colne
Contract Type: Full-Time
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2025
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide classroom support to teachers across a range of subjects and age groups
- Work one-to-one or in small groups with students who require additional academic or emotional support
- Assist in implementing individual learning and behaviour plans
- Support students with special educational needs, learning difficulties, or social/emotional challenges
- Help prepare learning materials and maintain a positive learning environment
Requirements:
- A degree in Psychology (or in the final year of study)
- A genuine interest in child development, education, and mental health
- Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Previous experience working with children or young people (desirable but not essential)
