Job Summary:
As a Night Care Assistant, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will assist with personal care, respond to needs promptly, carry out regular checks, and maintain accurate records, contributing to a calm and caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and continence support.
* Assist residents with mobility and repositioning to prevent bedsores.
* Carry out hourly checks and respond to call bells or emergencies promptly.
* Ensure residents are comfortable, safe, and treated with dignity and respect.
* Administer medication if trained and authorised to do so.
* Keep accurate records of care provided and report any changes in residents' condition.
* Carry out light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, or preparing light meals.
* Work collaboratively with other team members to maintain a calm night-time environment.
* Support end-of-life care if required, providing compassionate assistance to residents and families.
Requirements:
* Experience in care (preferred but not essential; training may be provided)
* A caring, empathetic, and patient nature
* Ability to work night shifts reliably
* Good communication and observational skills
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
* NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable)
Working Conditions:
