About the Role We are seeking an experienced Software Team Lead to join our technology department. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the deployment, support, maintenance, and monitoring of software systems aligned with MandM Direct’s strategic technology roadmap. You will work with both on-premise and cloud-based technologies, assessing new innovations for their suitability to enhance our business operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive in learning and applying new skills, staying current with industry developments, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our internal tools and processes. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead technical initiatives, collaborate across teams, and influence the future direction of our software infrastructure. Qualifications Proven experience in troubleshooting critical issues in live systems Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Software-Defined Data Centre concepts Experience with Microsoft IIS and .NET framework Proficiency in SQL databases, including querying, exporting, and importing data Familiarity with Microsoft Server Operating Systems Skilled in scripting technologies, particularly PowerShell Experience working with ticketing systems such as JIRA within an agile environment Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and related services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and network services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Microsoft IIS (7.5) Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools like Terraform and Packer Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams Responsibilities Investigate, analyze, and resolve issues related to systems, software, and data integrity Query, extract, and manipulate data from databases and log sources to support operational needs Troubleshoot both functional and non-functional issues, including performance and security concerns Configure and maintain infrastructure services such as TCP/IP networking, DNS, and DHCP Lead project delivery through the entire change lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and support Share knowledge with team members through demonstrations, code reviews, and documentation Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the software development roadmap Develop and review technical documentation, including procedures and work instructions Implement and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring scalability and security Monitor system performance and implement improvements proactively Benefits Competitive salary and bonus scheme Company pension plan Flexible working hours (Flexi-time) Birthday leave Generous staff discount Healthcare cash plan Opportunities for professional development and training Supportive and innovative work environment Hybrid remote work arrangement in Hereford HR4 9HT Equal Opportunity MandM Direct is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
