The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Director is responsible for leading the EHS initiatives across UK and Europe. This role involves developing, implementing and maintaining safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with local, national and EU regulations. The EHS Director will manage a team of EHS managers and foster a culture of safety and environmental compliance.
Provide the leadership to develop and implement programs, plans and procedures for meeting and exceeding EHS goals, including compliance with UK and EU regulations, such as the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standards and the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) guidelines.
Provide technical and professional leadership regarding applicable EHS regulations and issues throughout European and international operations and ensure regulatory compliance via established auditing processes and risk analysis.
Drive hazard assessment activities including Process Hazard Analysis and Job Safety Analysis in collaboration with EHS site leadership teams.
Develop, coordinate and implement comprehensive Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Process Safety programs and policies, including necessary training.
Lead the development, implementation and testing of emergency response plans, supporting regional EHS Managers in keeping them up-to-date and effective.
Liaise with all functional areas within the company to ensure safety, physical, environmental and asset conservation issues are fully understood and addressed.
Travel between 25% and 50% to provide on-site support and engagement with EHS team members.
NEBOSH Diploma Qualification.
