The opportunity Project: The fundamental requirement of the MEP technical assurance role (TA) is to provide the client via the appointed NEC project supervisor with assurance that the installed mechanical, electrical, control, life safety and public health systems have been tested, verified and certified to meet both the employers and design requirements. The Senior M&E Engineer TA role is not a commissioning mangers role per se, albeit, there will be some overlap with what the main contractor and sub contractors via their own commissioning specialists will be carrying out, in order that they can very methodically review and test the actual operation of the building and the systems abilities to satisfy the employers requirements and design intent. The M&E TA team shall work very closely and collaboratively with the client-side team to ensure what is being installed, built, tested and commissioned can be deemed to be complete, compliant, commissioned and certified. Detailed involvement with the main contractor and sub contractors as well as their own commissioning specialists will also be required, albeit, not in any management capacity. Your responsibilities will include: Ensuring that the commissioning of the facility processes is implemented early in the design stages and carried through to completion/occupation. Reviewing the procedures for satisfactory completion of the commissioning process and provision of all approvals/certificates. Advising on development of the design documentation in relation to commissioning requirements i.e., desktop commission ability review only. Reviewing the contractors master testing and commissioning tracker documents. Reviewing the contractors detailed design information for adequate definition and clear statement of testing/commissioning requirements. i.e., desktop commission ability review only. Reporting findings to NEC supervisor. Monitoring and reviewing the procedures for satisfactory completion of all commissioning activities. Monitoring and reviewing specialist contractor programmes. Monitoring and reviewing contractors testing/commissioning method statements, acceptance test protocols etc. Monitoring and reviewing contractors' static tests. Witnessing the technical commissioning and operation of the M&E services. Ensuring that all services provided operate to the employer's and design requirements. Advising on satisfactory rectification of commissioning defects. Reviewing all inspection and testing documentation and associated commissioning certificates. About you - You are educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or technically a qualified engineer / technician. You have either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering experience in design, installation and witness commissioning is key for this role. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
