Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at Fine Decor Wallcoverings Ltd.
Location: Congleton, Cheshire
Salary: £21.01 per hour
Job Type: Full time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, 4 days a week (Monday to Friday, 6am‑4pm or 8am‑6pm)
Key Responsibilities
* Reactive and planned mechanical maintenance to printing presses, ancillary equipment and buildings.
* Mechanical and electrical fault‑finding.
* Support newly planned maintenance schedules.
* Help increase efficiencies within the plant.
* Maintain records and documentation.
* Ensure business complies with current legislation.
* Emergency plant repairs when necessary.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Educational: HNC or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
* Mechanical knowledge of pneumatics, diaphragm pumps, mechanical drives (chains, sprockets, gears, gearboxes, drive belts).
* Production line servicing experience.
* Excellent fault‑finding skills.
* Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
* Good communication, organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Strong teamwork ethic.
* Ability to work under own initiative and under pressure.
* Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
* Experience within a factory environment.
Desirable Skills
* PLC knowledge.
* Knowledge of printing and printing machinery.
