Rivan Industries () is a synthetic fuel company dedicated to decarbonising heavy industry. Our goal is to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and to sustain life on earth by keeping CO2 locked underground.
We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants, which include a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor. These are integrated with off-grid DC solar power and the European gas grid. We recently deployed the UK's largest synthetic fuel plant and plan to scale this up by 1000 times in the next two years.
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to bring our designs to life and assist in integrating our reactor and electrolyser systems. The role involves managing condensing, cooling, plumbing, and system integration, requiring curiosity and urgency to overcome thermodynamic challenges in converting H2 and CO2 into fuel.
Our primary goal is to reduce the levellised cost of methane to the extent that drilling ceases and companies turn to atmospheric carbon extraction. If you are passionate about making a tangible difference and want to work with a team of talented, driven individuals, this opportunity is for you.
The role:
* Condensing gas streams to meet reactor specifications
* Designing gaskets and cells, including over-moulding and metal profiling
* Developing control programs to optimize production with off-grid DC solar power safely and effectively
* Overseeing the design, manufacturing, assembly, and deployment of the entire system
Core skills:
* Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related fields
* Strong understanding of thermofluids, heat and mass transfer, and chemical kinetics
* Proficiency in simulation and analytical modeling
* Experience in designing test setups, conducting experiments, and analyzing data
