Level 3 Childcare Apprenticeship – Bright Beginnings Nursery Hampshire
Shoots Training are currently recruiting for a passionate, reliable, and enthusiastic individual to join Bright Beginnings Nursery as a Level 3 Childcare Apprentice at their Havant setting.
At Bright Beginnings Hampshire nursery, we strive to support children’s development so that they may grow to be strong, independent individuals based on loving and secure relationships. The children in our care are all valued as individuals and each is an important member of Bright Beginnings Nursery. We provide a family atmosphere where they can learn through play in a safe, fun, and caring environment.
The nursery is approved and registered by OFSTED, meeting all the required standards. We are able to offer daily places for 40 children between 3 months and 8 years old.
The Baby Unit, known as “Butterfly Wood,” is for children between 3 months and 3 years. The nursery is equipped with a dedicated nursery room for babies and toddlers, featuring a soundproof sleep room with a Webcam monitoring system. Babies are checked every 10 minutes by staff, and there are quiet areas for restful sleep, with sleep times recorded in “Me and My Nursery Book”.
We have a separate Pre-School Room called “Badger Wood” for children from 3 years to school age.
Additionally, we run an out-of-school-hours/holiday club called the “Woodland Club”. The nursery provides freshly cooked food daily, prepared by our Nursery Cook.
The nursery is surrounded by a large, enclosed garden with fencing, offering a safe play area. It includes a giant sandpit, meadow trail, vegetable patch, large trees for shade with seating, outdoor toys, painting, water play, and indoor-like activities such as a home corner, dressing-up area, and a reading nook with log seats.
Entrance is via a long driveway with extensive parking for parents, along with 10 designated cycle/buggy parking spaces.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Supporting all aspects of childcare with guidance from senior practitioners and the leadership team.
2. Assisting key team members in caring for small children.
3. Understanding safeguarding policies and ensuring children’s safety, including planning activities, setting up rooms, and daily tasks.
4. Supporting mealtimes and personal care routines, including toileting and nappy changing, communicating effectively with parents, and completing children’s learning journals after 6 months.
Hours:
1. Bright Beginnings Nursery Havant operates from 07:45 to 18:00, Monday to Friday.
2. The successful candidate will work 30 hours per week, with shift patterns to be discussed.
Requirements:
1. Level 2 childcare qualification is desirable.
2. You must be able to obtain a clear DBS check.
3. GCSE grades A*-C or 4-9 in Maths and English Language, or equivalent.
