Job Opportunity
Here at Arnfield Care, we're looking for an individual to take up a cleaning role at one of our three beautiful residential children's homes in the Glossop Area (Hadfield, SK13). The post is for 16 hours per week, Monday to Friday (mornings), with an anticipated start date in early July.
Key responsibilities:
* To support and safeguard the Home’s staff and residents by maintaining a high standard of domestic presentation and cleanliness.
* To work collaboratively with other team members in order to provide a tidy and welcoming environment, consistent with the Home’s ethos, culture and Statement of Purpose.
* To monitor and report risks regarding the physical fabric of the Home, its contents and associated equipment, ensuring they pose no health or safety risk to residents, staff, visitors or the public.
* Emptying waste bins and transferring refuse to external bins/collection point.
* Sweeping and mopping hard floors with brushes and mops floors as necessary.
* Vacuuming carpeted areas inclusive of stairs.
* Dusting, damp wiping, washing and/or polishing furniture, window ledges, windowsills, external surfaces of cupboards, radiators shelves and miscellaneous fitments.
* Cleaning and disinfecting toilets, hand basins, sinks, baths, showers and other facilities as necessary.
* Replacing hygiene consumables such as soap, toilet roll, paper towels.
* Assisting kitchen staff with the cleaning of cookers, appliances and work surfaces, as and when required.
* Washing and wiping down internal walls, doors, window panes and other surfaces to head height plus arm extension.
* Using, storing and securing appropriate chemical cleaning materials safely, in accordance with instructions, training and/or official regulations.
* Determining the volume and frequency of purchases of necessary cleaning equipment, materials and consumables.

Essential Skills
* Right to work in the UK
* Full manual driving licence
* Previous domestic/industrial cleaning experience, especially gained in a busy (constantly in us) environment.
* Experience of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
* Good awareness of Health & Safety and Infection Prevention.
