Head of Air (Air and Fire Dampers)
Role Purpose
The Head of Air (Air and Fire Dampers) is a senior commercial–operational leader responsible for driving profitable growth, operational excellence, and scalable performance across the Air division. This role holds full P&L accountability and plays a pivotal part in shaping the division’s long‑term strategy, improving service delivery, and enabling sustainable expansion.
Working closely with Sales, Finance, and Executive Leadership, the Head of Air ensures that operational capability, commercial discipline, and customer experience directly support business growth and market development.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Business Leadership
Develop and deliver a 3–5 year growth strategy aligned to Group objectives.
Convert sales pipeline forecasts into operational capacity and capability plans.
Identify new revenue opportunities across existing and emerging sectors.
Support expansion into new markets and service lines.
Influence strategic planning, investment decisions, and long-term business direction.
Act as a senior member of the leadership team, contributing to company-wide strategy.
Full P&L Ownership & Financial Performance
Lead the Air division as a standalone business unit with full P&L accountability.
Drive revenue growth while improving gross margin and EBITDA contribution.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning with Finance partners.
Monitor productivity, utilisation, and contract profitability.
Implement cost optimisation initiatives that maintain service quality.
Strengthen pricing discipline and commercial governance.
Act as operational lead for major bids, tenders, and contract negotiations.
Validate pricing models, delivery assumptions, and risk profiles.
Partner with Sales to ensure commercially viable deal structures.
Support key account growth through performance reviews and senior client engagement.
Shape sales strategy by identifying operational differentiators and value propositions.
Operational Excellence & Scalable Delivery
Build a scalable operating model capable of supporting accelerated growth.
Standardise processes to improve efficiency, consistency, and customer experience.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce cost-to-serve.
Ensure rapid and structured response to incidents and escalations.
Embed data-driven decision-making and performance dashboards.
Maintain compliance frameworks and accreditations required for growth.
Performance Management & KPIs
Define and track KPIs across revenue, margin, productivity, service quality, and retention.
Improve customer satisfaction and retention metrics.
Provide monthly performance reporting with clear financial and operational insights.
Drive accountability through structured leadership reviews.
Leadership & Organisational Development
Build and develop a high-performing, commercially aware operations team.
Align team objectives with financial and sales targets.
Create succession plans and develop future leaders.
Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and customer focus.
Ensure workforce planning supports growth ambitions.
Risk, Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental and industry standards.
Maintain strong governance and effective incident management.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess operational impact.
Ensure compliance frameworks support — not restrict — commercial growth.

Key Skills & Experience
Senior leadership experience in Air and Fire Dampers technical field services or compliance-led operations.
Proven P&L ownership with a track record of margin improvement.
Strong commercial acumen and understanding of pricing and contract structures.
Experience supporting sales growth and leading complex bids.
Advanced financial literacy (budgeting, forecasting, margin analysis).
Analytical, KPI-driven approach to decision-making.
Ability to lead distributed teams.
Strong communication and executive presentation skills.
Experience delivering operational transformation and scalable growth.
QHSE Responsibilities
