The Deal Execution team is part of KPMG’s Strategy Group, delivering value by challenging conventional thinking, bringing industry insights, and executing with rigour. We are a diverse team of over 105 practitioners, working collaboratively to enhance value for clients across the deal and economic cycle. Our teams include specialists helping clients from conceptual thinking of buying a business to turnaround strategies during difficulties.
The M&A Centre of Excellence focuses on all aspects of the employee journey in M&A and transformational change outside of deals. We develop solutions for clients' issues, understanding financial impacts from a people perspective. We are passionate about helping clients execute transactions and change efficiently, maximising value and ensuring smooth transitions.
The Manager role is central to project delivery, working alongside global leaders. It involves sector-specific opportunities and focuses on four key client areas:
* Employee experience: Executing engagement programs addressing employee impact to ensure they would join the company independently of the deal.
* Organisational strategy development: Developing organisation design, people strategy, operating models, and synergy/value enhancement for carve-outs or standalones.
* Labour relations and compliance: Managing HR risks and obligations globally to meet deal timelines and integration plans.
* HR operations: Delivering HR services efficiently during and after deals, providing high-quality employee support.
Role Overview
You will lead projects, working closely with senior team members to build your deal knowledge and develop your HR, OD, and strategy skills. You will leverage your consulting skills to deliver transformational change outside of deals.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading small-to-medium engagements and supporting clients daily.
* Contributing to due diligence reports from a people perspective, analysing data, and providing insights on HR issues.
* Advising on integration and separation strategies, organisational design, and synergy analysis.
* Supporting transformational change projects, designing roadmaps, and managing risks.
* Interacting with stakeholders, coaching junior team members, and supporting business development activities.
Leadership & Management
Role model behavior, mentoring, coaching, challenging, and contributing to pitches and proposals to win new work.
Stakeholder Interaction & Challenges
Advising on complex deals, managing client expectations, delivering high-quality outputs, and employing technology to improve efficiency.
The Person
Work experience in HR, OD, or Strategy, preferably in M&A. Experience in HR functions, organisational design, employee engagement, and talent management. Skilled in leading meetings, influencing senior stakeholders, and developing business pitches.
Professional and technical skills include a degree, excellent communication, problem-solving, structured thinking, and market awareness.
