EndLyz Therapeutics is a dynamic biotech start‑up focused on developing small‑molecule disease‑modifying therapeutics that restore endo‑lysosomal function and abrogate neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s and other dementias. We are seeking a Director/Senior Director of Pharmacology (Pharmacology Lead) to drive our small‑molecule discovery efforts and help advance our portfolio through early discovery towards clinical development. This hybrid role involves close collaboration with academic and CRO partners and requires a presence in both our London and Oxford offices (2 days per week onsite).
The role
You will steer our small‑molecule screening activities, ensuring continuous innovation and timely progress of our portfolio. This is a career‑defining opportunity to apply your scientific expertise, lead from the front, and report directly to the CEO. You will champion our partnership with collaborators and CROs to generate data and advance our discovery efforts.
As a key member of the team you will be involved in projects from early exploratory through to early clinical development, applying your drug discovery and project management skills to support our mission of developing disease‑modifying therapeutics for neurodegenerative diseases.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead all pharmacology & screening activities across our discovery pipeline
* Drive strategic direction and delivery, ensuring scientific excellence
* Collaborate closely with consultants, CROs and academic partners to shape and execute project work‑plans
* Interpret and present data to scientific and investor audiences
* tribute to company‑wide decision‑making and long‑term R&D strategy
* Champion rigorous documentation and data integrity standards
Essential Skills & Experience
* PhD and ideally 10 years of relevant industrial experience in drug discovery
* In‑depth knowledge of modern pharmacology and screening technologies with a quality‑focused mindset
* Significant experience with small‑molecule modulators of transporter, GPCR, or ion channel pharmacology applicable to CNS targets
* Sound knowledge of flow‑scheme assay development for drug discovery
* Track record of direct accountability for project pharmacology and screening leadership and delivery supporting drug discovery projects
* Experience working with CROs, consultants and academic partnerships
* Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
* Highly motivated team player who proactively collaborates with other team members
Desirable
* Knowledge of Parkinson’s and neurodegenerative disease biology

We are developing small‑molecule therapeutics targeting ATP13A2 and ATP10B lysosomal transporters. Our small, fast‑moving team of four works closely with a large network of academic collaborators, consultants, contractors and CROs. We are backed by leading investors including the Dementia Discovery Fund, Oxford Science Enterprises, AbbVie, CD3, and Parkinson’s UK, and guided by an experienced board and scientific founders. As we prepare for Series A, we’re building a pipeline of first‑in‑class lysosomal targets with the potential to transform the treatment of neurodegenerative disease.
