Description Royal Voluntary Service has an opportunity available for an Activity Group Coordinator to join our team delivering Dementia Groups across the Leeds area. You will join us on a part-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £13.49 per hour (FTE £24,552 per annum). About the Activity Group Coordinator role: To coordinate and facilitate the operation of weekly activity and support groups for people living with dementia and/or their carers. The role of an Activity Group Coordinator is to design, prepare and deliver stimulating and fun activities for the group on a weekly basis. Activities will include but not limited to; chair based exercise, cognitive stimulation and craft work. The role will include supporting the Service Manager with the co-ordination of Volunteers, including recruitment and compliance (training and DBS checks), to enhance the overall service provision provided to those attending the groups. Location: Home based within easy reach to travel to groups across the Leeds area. Hours: 21 hours per week, working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday Requirements To be considered for this role you will need live within easy reach of the groups and hold valid full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid / reimbursed) Knowledge A knowledge and experience of dementia (personal and/or professional) Understanding of the benefit of group settings and activities for people living with dementia Safeguarding vulnerable adults Skills Excellent communication and listening skills Good organisation and facilitation skills A valid driving license and access to a vehicle with business insurance (mileage paid / reimbursed) (Essential) Experience Experience of working with people living with dementia and/or their carers Delivering activities within a group setting Ability to proficiently use standard IT systems – Microsoft Office/Word/Excel, client database entry and management.
