Description: To ensure the legal support team meets the demands of the firm and its clients. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, client-focused legal support services through the day-to-day management of Practice Assistants (PAs), Legal Support Assistants (LSAs), and Administrative Assistants (AAs). The post holder will be the main contact for the allocated Hub services, working closely with team members, SMs, and lawyers to understand and meet business and practice needs.
Key Responsibilities:
People Management
* Manage performance of support staff, including regular meetings and annual appraisals.
* Oversee induction of new staff and ensure understanding of policies and procedures.
* Act as a coach to develop the team to high standards.
* Identify and support training needs for personal development.
* Provide pastoral care and support wellbeing of the legal support team.
Management of Support Services
* Manage legal support teams focusing on service delivery and excellence.
* Handle resource allocation during absences to maintain service levels.
* Support wider group objectives and develop proactive relationships.
* Prioritize work effectively, balancing fee-earning and capacity.
* Participate in recruitment and address headcount issues.
* Stay informed of regulatory and demand changes, implementing necessary adjustments.
* Collaborate with other team leaders to improve service quality and efficiency.
* Maintain relevant statistics and approve overtime as needed.
* Develop current services and adapt to technological and business changes.
* Coordinate desk allocations and office moves.
* Ensure high standards of service are maintained and enhanced.
