We’re looking for an experienced fuel industry professional to step into a newly established Commercial Account Manager position supporting Scotland and Northern Ireland. This is a high-impact opportunity for someone who understands fuel markets, thrives on commercial ownership, and can balance account management with proactive business development. You’ll play a central role in delivering our UK commercial strategy — driving sustainable growth, optimising pricing, managing market risk and building long-term customer partnerships across core and alternative fuel products. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day accounts of our Scottish & NI customer portfolio and business development. Driving sales from our core assets and building strong relationships including out of hours management Support the wider commercial team and account managers with the aim to align the UK commercial strategy Support the Greenergy Esso retail estate through account management and support, deal making and driving growth of the Esso brand Grow volume across the UK, understanding customer requirements, ensuring excellent account management and adherence of customers to contract Ensure management is kept up to date with proposals, growth and develop and implement structural reporting Close liaison with Supply, Operations and Trading to ensure purchasing requirements are aligned and UK strategy can be delivered Work closely with the compliance team to ensure accurate hedging and the management of product hedging activities to mitigate market price risk and protect margin Working with relevant departments to ensure legal compliance, operational delivery of fuel and implementation of alternative fuels where required Focus on the integration of Trafigura owned terminals and associated sales growth Understanding break evens and bio-obligations to make decisions on pricing levels Travel to visit customers & Greenergy offices around the UK, including London, Manchester, Tamworth and terminals. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Proven experience in the fuel industry including managing large and complex sales agreements Familiarity with local and international markets for refined products, and connections/relationships with relevant industry participants, including suppliers and customers Understanding of oil fundamentals, products, grades, qualities, geopolitical and environmental influence on commodity markets Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills Curiosity to understand the business, and all processes – seeking constant improvement Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent numeracy skills and attention to detail Skills in negotiation and sales techniques Detail orientated Intermediate/advanced Excel and Outlook skills Intermediate PowerPoint Data entry skills for use of in-house database system (TPT and HAL).
