Job Description:
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
We are offering a clinical pharmacist post to deliver pharmaceutical care as part of a multi-professional team to optimise quality, evidence-based, and cost-effective use of medicines.
The post will provide aspects of the clinical pharmacy service within the community hospital, including chemotherapy, medical patients, and specialist medical health units. We are keen to hear from individuals interested in working part-time or full-time.
This post is based in Lochgilphead and is not suitable for routine remote working.
We are looking for enthusiastic and proactive individuals to join us.
You will have relevant experience in pharmacy practice, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and good IT skills.
You will join an established pharmacy team responsible for delivering high-quality medicines management and clinical pharmacy input across settings including GP practices, community hospitals, and mental health units.
The rural nature of this role offers variety and opportunities to develop new skills.
You must have a Masters degree in Pharmacy or equivalent and be on the practising register of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
A relevant postgraduate qualification in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience is desirable.
Ideally, you will be an independent prescriber or willing to undertake this.
The role involves travel to various locations, so a full, current driving license and use of your own car for work purposes are essential.
Information about the Argyll and Bute area can be found here, and details about the community hospital here.
