Production Materials Purchaser
Are you highly organised, analytical, and passionate about ensuring smooth production operations? We are seeking a proactive Production Materials Purchaser to join our Production Administration team. In this vital role, you’ll be responsible for purchasing, supplier management, and supporting our production and R&D teams to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials.
Responsibilities
* Raise and manage orders for spare parts and production materials.
* Release and close works orders, ensuring accurate traceability of engine specifics.
* Transfer components between production and warehouse, maintaining up-to-date parts data.
* Administer supplier relationships, including vendor selection, appraisal, and database maintenance.
* Run MRP to generate production part requirements and purchase orders.
* Ensure all incoming parts are inspected and meet company specifications.
* Source quotations and parts from new and existing suppliers to ensure best value.
* Maintain efficient stock levels and optimise inventory based on usage.
Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years in an administrative role (production administration experience preferred).
* Ideally, 3 years in a purchasing role and CIPS Level 3 or above.
Key Skills
* Excellent communication, administrative, and organisational skills (written and telephone).
* Strong PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word; CAD experience is a plus.
* Analytical, accurate, and detail oriented.
* Methodical and structured.
* Team player with the ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
* Knowledge of manufacturing methods, stock control, and logistics is beneficial.
