Associate / Senior Associate – Defendant EL/PL

CapeClarke Legal Recruitment is working with a well-regarded law firm to recruit an Associate or Senior Associate into its growing Defendant Personal Injury team in Newcastle.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Defendant EL/PL Solicitor to join a highly regarded team handling complex and sensitive public liability and employers’ liability claims on behalf of insurers, public sector bodies and large self‑insured organisations. The Role
You will manage a varied caseload of complex defendant matters, with a particular focus on public liability and employers’ liability work. The caseload is likely to include:
* Public liability claims
* Employers’ liability claims
* Abuse claims
* Human rights matters
* Data protection issues
* Equality Act claims
* Duty of care disputes

About You
Applications are invited from qualified Solicitors with 3+ years’ PQE and solid experience in Defendant Personal Injury litigation. Candidates with strong public liability and/or EL/PL experience will be of particular interest. You will be able to demonstrate:
* Strong experience handling defendant PI claims (preferably EL/PL claims)
* The ability to manage a complex caseload with minimal supervision
* Strong organisational and analytical skills
* Excellent communication skills
* A collaborative approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
