As a Senior Energy & Carbon Consultant, you will lead the delivery of high‑impact sustainability and decarbonisation projects across diverse sectors. You’ll work closely with clients to develop strategies that deliver measurable energy and carbon savings while supporting the transition to Net Zero. Acting as a technical authority, you will provide leadership within the Carbon Architecture team, manage complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and support the business in achieving its sustainability goals. You’ll combine engineering expertise with data‑driven insight to identify opportunities, design solutions, and guide clients through implementation.
Responsibilities
* Leading and managing a portfolio of client projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standard.
* Conducting complex energy and carbon audits, identifying reduction opportunities and presenting actionable solutions.
* Developing Net Zero strategies, energy masterplans, and investment‑grade proposals for clients in manufacturing, retail, commercial, and public sectors.
* Providing technical oversight on compliance workstreams, including ESOS, SECR, CCA, Scope 3, and Net Zero Roadmaps.
* Acting as a trusted advisor, maintaining long‑term client relationships through proactive communication and delivery excellence.
* Supporting the development of new service offerings, contributing to innovation within the Carbon Architecture team.
* Mentoring and coaching junior team members, supporting professional growth and technical development.
* Working collaboratively across Bellrock to integrate sustainability and energy efficiency principles within wider service delivery.
* Supporting the business development team with tenders, proposals, and client presentations.
* Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety standards and best practice across all project work.
Qualifications – Essential
* Degree in a relevant technical discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering).
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership (IET, IChemE, or Energy Institute).
* Proven experience (5+ years) delivering sustainability or energy consultancy projects.
* Strong analytical and numerical skills, able to interpret large datasets and communicate findings clearly.
* Excellent client‑facing, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Experience managing projects and teams in a consultancy environment.
* In‑depth understanding of building and process energy systems, renewable technologies, and carbon management.
* Strong report writing and presentation skills, able to articulate complex ideas to technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with energy analysis tools or BMS platforms.
Qualifications – Desirable
* Experience with energy analytics tools such as InMetriks or data visualisation in Power BI.
* Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement methods.
* Knowledge of legislative and voluntary schemes such as SBTi, TCFD, and ISO 50001.
* Previous line management or mentoring experience.
Working Arrangements
We embrace smarter working practices which offer our employees the opportunity to work their hours flexibly and remotely where their roles and business needs allow. In this role, the successful candidate would be required to work between their home address and 5 Merchant Square, Paddington, London Monday to Friday 08:30‑17:00.
