Overview

Looking for a new part‑time job where you can make a real difference and be that person that someone can rely on? Are you motivated and understanding with the ability to think outside the box when trying new things? This could be the role for you.

Job Summary

Our fabulous #TeamFairyhill are looking for an outgoing and bubbly female colleague with bags of enthusiasm to join their team as a Support Practitioner on a part‑time (16 hours per week) permanent basis.

Role and Responsibilities

Working as part of our small team you’ll be supporting a young lady who loves nothing more than staying active. She enjoys social activities, going to night clubs, themed “Come Dine With Me” events with her friends, and there is never a dull moment.

You’ll provide practical and emotional 1:1 support within her home and while out in the community. By taking a person‑centred approach you will get to know her, encourage independence, and help her recognise her potential. Part of your role will include developing and maintaining personal plans.

You will need a full UK manual driver’s licence with at least one year of driving experience, as the supported lady has her own mobility car.

About You

We would be delighted if you have experience working with mental health, but we recruit on values and transferable skills. Our Training Academy will give you all the skills you’ll need, including training for SVQ. We will fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification, PVG costs and SSSC registration fees. We’ll also pay you for your training.

* A full manual driving licence (lady has her own mobility car)
* Good listening and communication skills
* A caring attitude and approach
* A positive approach to learning
* An understanding of the importance of routines and guidelines
* Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provides person‑centred support seven days a week, typically between 8am and 8pm. Rotations will include weekends and public holidays.

Benefits

* Meaningful work you enjoy
* Opportunity to change and improve lives in the local community
* Culture of empowerment and teamwork
* No uniform – casual attire
* Up to £500 funded for driving lessons
* Reimbursement of yearly SSSC registration fees
* Funding for qualifications through our accredited Training Academy
* Ongoing professional development and career progression
* Colleague bonus scheme
* Long‑service awards
* 24/7 independent employee assistance helpline
* 26 days annual leave (increasing by 5 days after 5 years) plus 4 paid bank holidays
* Family‑friendly leave options: family, parental, bereavement, special leave
* Access to discounts (cinema, gym, holidays, shopping, etc.)

Application Process

If you’d like to find out more, please contact Hannah Rennie on 07350457529.

Legal & EEO Statement

Cornerstone welcomes applications from all sections of the community and actively seeks to increase diversity. For this position female is an Occupational Requirement as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

Additional Requirements

Successful candidates will join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working toward an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy.

Within three months of starting, you must register with SSSC and meet insurance requirements for driving the mobility car.

If you have spent more than 12 months in the UK (excluding France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania or Spain) within the last 10 years while over 18, you will need to provide a criminal record certificate from the relevant government/police authority as part of pre‑employment checks.
