Role: Detention Officer
Location: Campsfield House, Oxfordshire
Pay Rate: PAYE rate £184.19 per day
Contract Length: 6 months initially
Working Hours: Shifts between Monday to Friday (8 AM - 9 PM) and weekends (1 in 3 weekends, 9 AM - 5 PM)
As a Detention Officer at Campsfield House, you'll play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of detainees while supporting them through the immigration process. You will work closely with caseworkers, oversee detainees, and manage administrative tasks within a busy, high-pressure environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct face-to-face engagements with detainees (induction, follow-up engagements, asylum screenings).
Identify vulnerabilities in detainees and ensure these are properly recorded and addressed.
Manage a portfolio of detainees and keep detailed, accurate records.
Assist caseworkers by providing feedback and insights into detainee behaviours and conditions.
Complete administrative tasks such as managing arrival/departure lists and responding to emails and queries.
Provide welfare support and work with the welfare office to address detainee concerns.About You:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a challenging and regulated environment.
Previous experience in custodial, social care, or welfare roles.
Security Clearance required (or eligible to obtain).
Resilience and attention to detail.
Able to commute to Yarls Wood (Bedford) centre for training. Why Should You Apply?
