ASD Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Contract: Full-time, term time
A supportive secondary school in Enfield is seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis from January. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to access learning, develop social skills, and achieve their full potential.
The Role:
Providing 1:1 and small group support for students with ASD
Assisting students in the classroom to engage with the curriculum
Supporting the development of communication, social, and behavioural skills
Working closely with teachers, SENCo, and other support staff to plan and deliver interventions
Promoting positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing
Supporting students both academically and socially
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience working with children or young people with ASD (school-based experience preferred)
Be patient, empathetic, and resilient
Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Be proactive and able to build positive relationships with students
Be committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable learners
Be available full-time from January
