Overview
We are working to create a safe and secure world. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will design, integrate, and maintain high‑integrity EC&I systems across nuclear facilities, ensuring regulatory compliance, enhancing operational safety, and supporting the UK’s clean energy and defence infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery of robust EC&I engineering solutions that meet nuclear safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with specialist teams focused on safety‑critical systems across nuclear operations and decommissioning.
* Support multidisciplinary projects within the Engineering Business Unit and align with strategic programmes.
* Interface with internal stakeholders (project managers, safety case authors, commissioning engineers) and external partners (regulators, clients, suppliers).
* Ensure all work meets industry standards, site licence conditions and quality assurance frameworks.
Essential Experience
* Designing and delivering EC&I systems for regulated environments.
* Applying nuclear safety standards (e.g. IEC 61508, BS EN 61511) and ensuring compliance with ONR regulations.
* Working within cross‑functional teams to deliver complex engineering projects across the nuclear lifecycle.
* Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to resolve design issues and support project delivery.
* Producing and reviewing technical outputs such as specifications, calculations, and safety case contributions.
Qualifications
* Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Instrumentation or a related discipline.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
