With over 100 employees, the Dalkia Group central function has HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, IT, QSHE and Communications teams supporting our business unit colleagues in these specialisms. We provide technical expertise, governance, policy, guidance and support to the business units to provide a high quality service to their own people and their clients. Roles in the centre work closely with Executive team to shape and deliver our strategic goals but also partner with the business functions to embed the values, behaviours and strategic ambitions.
The Central Reward team is responsible for providing a shared payroll and benefit service to all 5 of the business units and the Group centre teams. The Payroll Manager will report to the Head of Reward and will be accountable for developing and leading the payroll team providing this service to the rest of the Group. As well as being accountable for the delivery of an efficient, compliant payroll, the Manager will liaise with the senior stakeholders in the business units to develop a responsive, customer focussed approach to pay and benefits across the organisation.
Responsibilities:
As our Payroll Manager, you will:
1. Responsible for leading the payroll function and ensuring that all relevant deadlines are met.
2. To be central point of contact for Payroll services, providing expert and accurate pay advice.
3. Responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of weekly and/or monthly payroll transactions.
4. Act as the primary contact for all third party and outsourced providers, as well as key internal stakeholders.
5. Manage the weekly and/ or monthly end to end payroll processes including a reconciliation of the payroll data prior to submission.
6. Work in collaboration with the Payroll Management team to ensure compliance across the weekly and monthly payrolls by supporting with internal checks and audits.
7. Ensuring all employment, pension and third-party payments are made correctly and on time.
8. Work closely with the HR Systems Team to utilise the functionality of the HR/ Payroll system fully, including regular testing of any system upgrades and fixes.
9. Manage and ensure timely delivery and resolution of employee payroll queries.
10. Work proactively to improve the process delivery and system efficiency.
11. Ensure compliance with all tax, social security and UK legislation.
12. Ensure the data within the Payroll systems is maintained and provides an accurate reflection of all payroll and benefits.
13. Ensuring service levels are met whilst maintaining strong relationships and an accurate payroll function.

Experience
35. A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a payroll management or supervisory type role.
36. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including tax, pension, and statutory payments.
37. Experience of working within an Engineering/Construction led business with knowledge of working rule agreements associated with this type of industry.
38. Experience in delivering end to end weekly and monthly payrolls.
39. Experience of working to strict deadlines.
40. Proficiency in using payroll software and Microsoft Excel for data management, analytics, and reporting.
41. Professional certifications such as Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) is advantageous.
