Lead Mechanical Engineer
Hull
EPC
Do you enjoy leading mechanical engineering teams on complex, safety‑critical projects and acting as the go‑to technical authority? This is a chance to take ownership of the mechanical discipline within a modern, digitally enabled EPC provider that supports clients across oil and gas, petro‑chemical, chemical and other high‑hazard process industries.
The business delivers end‑to‑end engineering services, from defining design basis and FEED through to EPCm execution, equipment specification and procurement, vendor selection and construction support. They focus on turning next‑generation energy and process concepts into real, operational facilities by challenging traditional delivery models and using innovation and collaboration to create efficiencies for their customers.
As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will provide and oversee all technical services from the mechanical department, leading a small but growing team of engineers and designers within an expanding organisation. You will develop design scopes and ensure all deliverables comply with relevant international design codes and client standards, taking final approval responsibility for mechanical engineering outputs and acting as the discipline’s subject‑matter expert.
You will coordinate interfaces between project phases, maintain an overview of mechanical capability and resourcing, and build strong working relationships with client engineers and delivery partners to resolve technical queries quickly. The company combines structured project delivery with a flexible working pattern (split between home and office) and a culture that values empowerment, development and free thinking.
Success in this role calls for significant experience in mechanical design for high‑hazard industries, including exposure to rotating and static equipment, piping and vessels, fabrication and mechanical‑civil interfaces, plus familiarity with ASME, API and European EN codes. You will be comfortable supervising and mentoring others, using 3D design and analysis tools, and ensuring work is delivered to budget and schedule while upholding stringent safety, quality and ethical standards.
We are only able to consider Chartered Engineers for this position.
If you want to shape a growing mechanical team and play a pivotal role in delivering complex energy and process projects within a progressive EPC environment, this role offers both influence and long‑term progression.
