Job Description
We are pleased to invite applications for a Supply Chain Development Officer to join our economic development and Business Gateway Aberdeen City & Shire team.
Aberdeenshire Council is seeking a candidate with experience and understanding of public sector procurement processes, with excellent communication and networking skills to encourage the supply chain to increase their capacity to tender for public sector contracts. Experience in developing and working within public/private/third sector partnerships is desirable. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, demonstrate commercial aptitude, and have the ability to deliver results within set timescales in a demanding environment. Report writing will be a key part of this role, monitoring local content and working closely with procurement, the Business Gateway team, and economic development officers.
The post holder will proactively engage private and third sector businesses to support their growth through capacity building and will develop initiatives to enhance their tendering capabilities. They will also identify other organizations, companies, and individuals who can add value to procurement performance and develop proposals to connect them with Aberdeen city and Aberdeenshire businesses.
Experience in a regulated procurement environment within the public/private sector is desirable.
The role is based at Woodhill House, with travel across Aberdeen City & Shire. It is a full-time, permanent position, with flexible working arrangements considered. The work style is hybrid and client-facing, involving a mix of office work, site visits, and home working. A current full driving license and access to a car are essential.
This role may require flexible, evening, and weekend work on occasion.
