Job Title: Buyer (Civil Engineering)Job SummaryThe Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, equipment, and services required for Amelio Group. This role ensures timely procurement at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards and supporting project schedules.Key ResponsibilitiesProcurement & SourcingIdentify and source suppliers for construction materials (e.g., concrete, steel, aggregates, pipes).Obtain and evaluate quotations, tenders, and proposals.Issue purchase orders in line with project requirements.Supplier ManagementBuild and maintain relationships with approved suppliers and subcontractors.Evaluate supplier performance (cost, quality, delivery).Develop alternative suppliers to reduce risk and cost.Cost Control & NegotiationNegotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.Ensure procurement aligns with project budgets and cost targets.Track market trends for construction materials and adjust strategies accordingly.Project CoordinationWork closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to understand material needs.Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid project delays.Resolve supply issues or delays proactively.Compliance & DocumentationEnsure all purchases comply with company policies and contract requirements.Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.Support audits and reporting requirements.Inventory & LogisticsMonitor stock levels and coordinate deliveries.Minimize waste and over-ordering.Coordinate with logistics teams for transportation and site delivery.Required QualificationsProven experience (typically 25+ years) in procurement within construction or civil engineering.Knowledge of construction materials and industry standards.Key SkillsStrong negotiation and commercial awarenessKnowledge of procurement processes and contractsExcellent communication and stakeholder managementAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)Preferred ExperienceExperience working on infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities, etc.)KPIs / Performance IndicatorsCost savings achievedOn-time delivery rateSupplier performance metricsPurchase order cycle timeBudget adherenceSkills:Buying Management Supplier Sourcing Supplier Relationships Purchasing ProcessesBenefits:Gym Flexitime Laptop Mobile Phone Paid Holidays Parking Performance BonusWHJS1_NI
