You will be responsible for supporting and/or managing residential Roads/Sewer and Groundwork sites throughout the Midlands area.
Key role responsibilities
1. Alongside the production team, prepare monthly forecasts to confirm that resources deployed are targeted to ensure outputs are efficient and cost-effective.
2. Develop close working relationships with key stakeholders and colleagues around the group, including Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Engineers, Buyers, etc., to support the goals of the Intercompany team.
3. Carry out timely valuations of work completed on site and ensure applications for payment are submitted in accordance with Intercompany protocol.
4. Identify, appraise, and value scope changes, ranging from strategy changes, drawing design changes, to incidental works requested on site.
5. Support the development and adoption of new processes that will harness the full potential of Intercompany working.
6. Participate in regular project meetings, setting an example and constructively challenging the wider project team to be proactive, efficient, and to effectively mitigate risks and maximise opportunities.
7. Ensure COINS ERP system is updated to report on project progress.
8. Review operational progress against pre-agreed strategies alongside project team colleagues.
9. Lead the sub-contract procurement process, nurturing sub-contractor relationships.
10. Process sub-contract payments and manage sub-contractor accounts.
11. Support the production of monthly profit & loss reporting and ensure compliance with contracted responsibilities.
12. Assist in the production of monthly Cost Value Reconciliations and share this information with key stakeholders.
13. Occasionally support estimating with measurement and the production of Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
14. Liaise with site teams to proactively and efficiently resolve site-based Commercial issues.
15. Manage payments proactively to avoid debt.
What we expect from you:
1. Relevant experience within a Graduate/Trainee/Junior Quantity Surveyor role.
2. Relevant Commercial degree, apprenticeship, or educational background.
3. Strong numerical ability with a minimum of a 6 in GCSE Maths.
4. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
5. Tenacity and passion to do the right thing and get it right first time.
