Introduction The Apprentice will be responsible for learning the necessary skills and acquiring the required knowledge, to enable progress to the role of Test Technician. This will be achieved by on-the-job training, learning from the Test Technicians, in-house training and by completing a Level 3 Apprenticeship standard (Engineering Fitter). Key Responsibilities Develop a good understanding of Drawings, Test Specifications, Circuit Diagrams and Test Procedures Learn about component / Printed Circuit Board assembly and soldering techniques Learn about product assembly Undertake IPC 610 and IPC 620 training and achieve certification Learn about industry standards / regulations Learn about Lean Techniques, 5S, etc Understand the different items of test equipment available and how they are used Learn how to test products in line with test documentation. Including how the required test results are obtained and recorded Develop an understanding of different fault-finding techniques and learn how to effectively and efficiently diagnose board assemblies and products that have failed test Learn to access the system to access manufacturing instructions, procedures and forms, and how to raise NCRI’s for non-conforming product Undertake training and complete a Level 3 Apprenticeship (Engineering Fitter). This will be by a combination of on-the-job training and attendance at an appropriate training centre or college Core Requirements Minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade 4 or above, in appropriate subjects, to include Mathematics, English and at least one with a Science or Engineering bias Basic computing skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, such as Word and Excel Ability to work in a small team and on own initiative when required A willingness to communicate with staff at all levels Willingness to learn and develop new skills through training and acquisition of knowledge Willing to work additional hours, if required Solving Technology Challenges for a Sustainable World We want the very best people in our TT family across the globe – so we welcome applications from everyone, to celebrate a diverse mix of experiences, backgrounds and identities.
