Start Date: September 2025
Are you a passionate maths teacher ready to make a meaningful impact in the classroom?
We’re working with a vibrant and high-achieving secondary school in St Albans that’s dedicated to academic success and personal development. The school prides itself on being a warm, inclusive environment where students are supported to grow into confident, independent learners—and where staff are given the tools and encouragement to thrive.
Their Maths Department is currently looking for an enthusiastic and committed teacher who can make maths engaging and accessible—someone who can help students enjoy the subject, not just study it.
Your Role Will Include:
Planning and delivering dynamic maths lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students
Differentiating lessons to suit varied learning styles and abilities
Creating a classroom culture where students feel safe, valued, and eager to participate
Setting homework and giving constructive, timely feedback
Managing behaviour positively and respectfully
Preparing students for GCSEs with effective revision strategies
Supporting curriculum planning and developing engaging resources
Working collaboratively with colleagues to share best practices and raise standards
Monitoring progress and communicating with parents and school leadership
Taking part in wider school activities, from staff meetings to extracurricular clubs
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has a real passion for maths and a desire to inspire young minds
Can manage the classroom confidently and build strong student relationships
Works well in a team and communicates effectively
Is comfortable using technology in teaching (interactive whiteboards, maths tools, etc.)
Has a growth mindset and is keen on professional development
Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one)
What the School Offers:
Continued Professional Development: Access to regular training sessions
Supportive Working Culture: Be part of a collaborative and friendly team
Pension Scheme: Enjoy peace of mind with a secure pension plan
Healthy Work-Life Balance: Dedicated PPA time and manageable workload
Wellbeing Support: Programmes and resources to support mental and physical health
