Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant (Bristol)
Our Geo-Environmental & Mining (GEM) Business Unit delivers a diverse range of geo-environmental services across sectors including Energy, Defence, Property & Government Services. The successful candidate will be a member of this 100-strong unit, focusing on technical excellence, client care and effective project management. You will work with land quality, environmental due diligence, ground investigation, groundwater and geo-technical specialists, collaborating with teams in other offices and with planning, environment and engineering specialists to deliver holistic solutions.
We undertake a diverse range of projects across sectors to deliver geo-environmental consultancy services backed by in-house ground investigation capabilities. This role focuses on contaminated land, site investigation and brownfield redevelopment across market sectors including property & regeneration, defence estates, energy and transport, with opportunities to progress across a range of projects.
Responsibilities
* Project management, coordination of multi-discipline project teams
* Client management and development
* Assisting with the design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
* Undertaking desk top study assessments
* Accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of site data
* Producing detailed technical reports
* Undertaking ground gas & groundwater monitoring works and assessment
Qualifications and Skills
* You will have a degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or related subject
* Several years post-graduate experience
* Project management experience and skills including coordination of large project teams, control and management of resources, quality, budget and programme while delivering works safely and to a high technical standard
* Good understanding of health, safety and environmental management
* Understanding of current contaminated land technical guidance, Part 2A legislation and the development planning regime
* Strong communication and ability to develop client relationships; aptitude to support growth of the land quality business
* Knowledge of investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated land; ability to produce Phase 1 desk top studies and Phase 2 interpretative reports with risk assessments
* Commitment to studying towards professional qualification
* Excellent teamwork and ability to work independently
* Full Driving Licence
