As Assistant Finance Manager, you'll support the Head of Finance across financial management, reporting, process improvement, and systems development. This is a varied, handson and commercially focused position ideal for someone who enjoys making a visible impact. You'll combine analytical strength, leadership capability, systems knowledge, and operational finance expertise to help drive business performance, support colleagues across departments and develop bestpractice processes that enhance the efficiency of the entire finance function.
Job: Assistant Finance Manager
Location: Yeovil / Hybrid (3 days in the office/ 2 days from home)
Salary: Circa £50k, for experienced candidates this can be reviewed.
Hours: Fulltime, Monday-Friday 8am-4.30pm (flexible on start and finish times)

What You'll Be Doing:
You'll be joining a highperforming finance team within a longestablished UK manufacturer during an exciting period of growth and investment. As Assistant Finance Manager, you'll support the Head of Finance across a broad mix of operational, analytical, supervisory, and projectbased work.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Team & Leadership
1. Supervising and supporting ledger staff
2. Coaching colleagues and driving continuous improvement
3. Acting as deputy to the Finance Manager when needed
Financial Operations
4. Overseeing debtor management and credit control
5. Ensuring timely reconciliations and accurate cash allocation
6. Supporting transactional processing and complex reconciliations
7. Managing relationships with internal teams and external partners (e.g. banks, auditors, HMRC, insurers)
Payroll & Compliance
8. Managing a monthly payroll of around employees
9. Ensuring accurate tax, NI and pension reporting
10. Supporting staff policies, procedures, and entitlements
Reporting & Budgets
11. Assisting with monthly management accounts
12. Leading yearend audit schedules and data consolidation
13. Developing financial reports, KPIs and insights
14. Supporting budgeting cycles and analysing variances
Systems & Projects
15. Contributing to ERP system testing and maintenance (SAP)
16. Supporting the rollout of new SAP modules
17. Leading or assisting with wider business projects
What We're Looking For:
18. ACCA / CIMA / ACA qualified or partqualified, OR
19. AAT / QBE with strong relevant experience
You'll also bring:
20. Experience within manufacturing or a related industry (desirable)
21. Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
22. Excellent communication skills with confidence liaising across the business
23. Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP systems (ideally SAP), and SAGE 50 Payroll
24. A proactive, curious mindset with a passion for improving processes
25. Leadership experience or the desire to develop mentoring skills
