Job Title: Registered Manager Childrens Residential Home (EBD)
Location: Cannock, Staffordshire
Salary: £55,000 £65,000 per annum (DOE) + performance-related bonuses
Hours: Full-time (40 hours per week) including participation in the on-call rota

Were looking for a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a childrens residential home in Cannock. This home supports children and young people aged 718 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), offering a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that promotes healing, growth, and independence.
This is a key leadership role responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and delivering outstanding outcomes for the young people in your care.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operational Oversight
* Provide clear, child-centred leadership to the staff team, fostering a culture of care, consistency and compassion.
* Ensure the home is fully compliant with the Childrens Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
* Maintain and regularly review the homes Statement of Purpose, ensuring its aims and objectives are met.
* Oversee the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
* Promote a safe and supportive working environment for both staff and young people.
* Ensure high standards of health and safety, including completion and review of relevant risk assessments.
Care Delivery & Child Focus
* Lead the assessment, planning and review process for all children admitted to the home.
* Ensure personalised care plans and risk assessments are in place, regularly reviewed, and reflect each childs needs and goals.
* Promote a trauma-informed, therapeutic approach that supports recovery, emotional regulation and resilience.
* Encourage meaningful participation from children and advocate for their voices to be heard in decisions affecting them.
* Oversee daily routines, activities, and educational engagement, ensuring children are provided with a safe, stimulating and homely environment.
* Support the preparation for independence and adulthood, ensuring young people are equipped with the necessary life skills.
Safeguarding & Quality Assurance
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring a robust safeguarding culture within the home.
* Maintain readiness for Ofsted inspections, aiming for at least a "Good" or "Outstanding" outcome.
* Monitor quality assurance processes including Reg 44/45 reports and internal audits.
Staff Development & Team Management
* Recruit, train, and supervise staff to ensure a skilled and consistent team.
* Provide regular supervision, performance appraisals, and development plans.
* Oversee rota planning and ensure effective staffing levels are maintained.
* Promote continuous professional development and reflective practice within the team.
Multi-Agency & Stakeholder Engagement
* Work in partnership with local authorities, social workers, schools, health professionals and other key stakeholders.
* Represent the home at child protection conferences, looked after child reviews, and other professional meetings.
* Ensure the rights and welfare of each child are effectively promoted and safeguarded.
Finance & Administration
* Manage the homes budget, resources and staffing costs effectively.
* Ensure accurate and up-to-date record keeping in line with data protection legislation and GDPR.
* Provide regular performance reports to the Responsible Individual.
Essential Criteria
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager in a childrens home.
* Proven experience working with children with EBD, trauma and complex behaviours.
* In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
* Enhanced DBS clearance and full UK driving licence.
* Strong leadership, safeguarding and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and on-call as required.
Desirable
* Experience of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
* Formal training or experience in trauma-informed or therapeutic care models.
* Experience working with children with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD or mental health difficulties.
